|David Powers was born in Allentown, PA. |
He received a B.A. in chemistry from Franklin and Marshall College, where he studied non-statistical diradical intermediates in [1,3] sigmatropic rearrangements of vinylcyclobutanes with Prof. Phyllis Leber.
He received a Ph.D. with Prof. Tobias Ritter at Harvard University studying binuclear Pd(III) intermediates in C-H oxidation reactions.
He is currently an NIH post-doctoral fellow in Prof. Daniel Nocera's research group at Harvard, studying halogen elimination photoreactions as an approach to solar energy conversion.
