Alex Wiltrout, graduate student at PSU

Alex Wiltrout hails from Mertztown, PA and obtained his B.A. in chemistry from Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, PA. He is currently a graduate student at the Pennsylvania State University under the direction of Prof. Ray Schaak, where he works on the synthesis of catalytically active materials for the hydrogen evolution reaction. His research is primarily focused on developing controllable synthetic procedures for known catalysts, namely transition metal sulfides, as well as the discovery of new catalysts that show potential for hydrogen evolution.
